AnnMarie Tornabene - A Self-Portrait Photographic Journey
My Body Collective
In 2022, during my 25th year as a self-portrait photographer and professional artists' model, I decided that it was time to officially share my story of why and how I chose this artistic path by writing a short autobiography for attempting to find closure with certain aspects of my life and with the hopes of offering positive inspiration to others. Thanks to Kickstarter and the many people who have supported me and my artistic career over the years, in 2023, I received funding to be able to self-publish my book.
This beautifully printed hardcover book includes text in both English and French side-by-side - something not often seen in books before and both unseen and exhibited/published self-portraits. There are also a few prose that I had written in my young adulthood that I thought worked well as part of the conclusion. As of February 2025, since receiving my shipment of these books in September of 2023, I have sold more than half of them without professional distribution and interest continues! Please consider ordering your copy today!

Here are a few testimonies:
It's here at last! I knew this book would be a shock, but I had no idea of its power and humanity. The further I went, the more speechless and breathless I became, until I realized that my eyes were blurring and fogging up. Thank you, dear AnnMarie, for this sincerity, these tears offered. I've been saying ever since I started photographing that all bodies are beautiful, and now that I've discovered yours, this adage has never had so much meaning. I don't know if the word “beautiful” is enough, but it's the one that spontaneously comes to mind. Every page is inked with beauty, because that's what you're throwing in our faces-your beauty. You mock your skin for its opulence, its excess? The truth of your body fascinates, confuses and, above all, bewitches. It's the body of a goddess that you show us. You're naked, and yet this nudity was necessary; it's obvious, undoubtedly indispensable. How can I ever thank you for this sharing, this powerful generosity? You give a lesson in humanity. Your body is a cry, a manifesto, you've let it scream. Please accept my admiration. I know I'll be coming back to your book often and at length, this feeling of being overwhelmed, of having received an uppercut - you couldn't have given me a more sublime gift. Thank you AnnMarie. There will be a before and an after to discovering such a generous work. To discover you is to be reconciled with humanity, you are a magnificent bulwark against the barbarism of our world. You can't imagine the peace that surrounds you; this book was necessary and should be shared without moderation.

I've just finished reading your autobiography with great emotion and a lot of admiration for the beautiful person you are! Of course, it shows in the way you pose and in the musical choices you make. Ever since the first time you posed for my students, I've found you very “inhabited”, very special and courageous. And I confess, I find you sublime. That's it! It's a declaration!
