August 2010

As the Summer somewhat winds down, though with this heat, one would never know it, I update you on my happenings.

It's been crazy - 2 pieces are up in an exhibition at the fotofoto Gallery in Huntington, NY through September 12, so there is still time to go ssee it. Here is the gallery info.

I've submitted a piece for the Ray Johnson: A Book About Death exhibit that will take place at the S.A.L. Gallery on the campus of Long Island University/C.W. Post from October 31 - November 7. It's only up for a a week but something worth seeing. The ongoing blog is up currently so you can see what has been submitted so far.

Most importantly, I have begun experimenting with another medium - video! After meeting with Robyn Bellospirito - a local performance artist, I couldn't help but become inspired. It seems so natural for me to go from performing for a still camera to a moving one. What's more is that since music inspires me so, now I have the opportunity to utilize it directly in my work. I have several videos up on YouTube currently and with a brand new FlipvideoHD, I am addicted to the moving image!

In older news: I've added a new body of work to this site entitled Angels. As always, it's a work in progress but I have been so excited at this change in direction, I wanted to share. In recent months, I've been dealing with much sickness and death, so I've found comfort in making images that reflect a certain spirituality. I have applied for a grant, and if I receive it, Goddess willing, I will be able to see this series come to complete fruition.

In addition, images from Rabbitholes and Revelations and Not Wonderland have been added to Red Dog Journal - Tim Anderson's fine art photography webzine and more. Be sure to check it out.

Lastly, I have redesigned my book through blurb.com. This new and improved book contains images from both the "Rabbitholes and Revelations" and "Not Wonderland" series. Order your copy today!
